Emergency Readiness

Emergencies can happen at any time. Being prepared helps protect you, your family and neighbours. Bayside Council supports residents by providing clear information and practical resources to help you get ready.

Why Prepare?

Events like severe storms, flooding, bushfires and heatwaves can happen with little warning. Having a simple plan means you’ll know what to do and where to go when it matters most

How to stay prepared

Be aware of hazards in your local area, such as:

  • Flooding
  • Coastal storms
  • Extreme heat.
2

Make an emergency plan

  • Choose safe meeting places
  • Keep key phone numbers handy
  • Plan for pets and anyone who may need extra support
3

Prepare an emergency kit

 Include the following:

  • Water
  • Non-perishable food
  • Medications
  • First Aid kit
  • Torch
  • Batteries
  • Copies of important documents.
  • Attend Council's Emergency Readiness Workshop by Australian Red Cross
4

Stay informed
