Before you begin a project, you will need development approval.
There are different types of development approval, depending on the nature, size and scale of your development.
The NSW Government has set new expectations to speed up the assessment timeframes of Development Applications. Here's what you need to know: Make every effort to ensure your application is correct and complete before submitting. If any information is missing the application will be returned and you will need to re-submit the entire application. To avoid this, please review your application carefully using our Development Application Lodgement Checklist. Once your application is accepted Bayside Council can no longer provide extended timeframes or multiple opportunities for changes. Following this advice will greatly improve the assessment timeframe of your application. Amended Plans and Fees In accordance with the Bayside Council Fees & Charges Schedule, an amended plans fee is payable when revised plans are submitted. Council applies an amendment fee of 50% of the original DA fee. Under Council’s Communications and Engagement Strategy, any requirement for renotification may also require a renotification fee, depending on the extent of the amendments. This will be confirmed upon receipt and review of the amended plans. Due to the increasing volume and complexity of amendments, Council implemented these fees to recover costs associated with re assessment and renotification. |
