Councillor Ed McDougall has been named Mayor of Bayside Council, being selected by fellow Councillors at the Mayoral Election during the first meeting of the new term of Council on Wednesday 9 October

Bayside Council’s innovative AI Flood Detection and Early Warning System was honoured at the Keep Australia Beautiful NSW Sustainable Cities Awards on Thursday 10 October.

Bayside Council is divided by five wards. Each Ward is represented by three councillors who are elected by the people who live in those Wards. 

Council has resolved to write to the NSW Transport Minister and ask for an extension of funding for the successful Safer Cities: Her Ways program.

Bayside Council is pleased that the NSW Environmental Protection Agency (NSW EPA) has completed water sampling of Botany Bay in response to concerns about contamination around Sydney Airport.
