Rockdale wetlands

Kamay Greenway

Planning

The Kamay Greenway project is a 2.5 km section of the broader 12 km Rockdale Wetlands Corridor Active Transport Project. Extending from Scarborough Park to Sans Souci, the proposed walking and cycling route will connect existing open spaces, recreational facilities and community destinations while providing a direct link to southern cycling networks.

The project aims to create a connected and accessible green corridor that delivers environmental, recreational and transport benefits for the community.

Project benefits

The Kamay Greenway will enhance:

  • Ecology by strengthening biodiversity connections through the corridor.
  • Active transport by improving walking and cycling connectivity for residents and visitors.
  • Recreation by creating a space that supports a range of recreational and lifestyle activities.
  • Accessibility by providing an inclusive environment for people of all ages and abilities.
  • Culture by celebrating local history, heritage and community identity.

Project progress

The project is one of Bayside's 10 Bold Moves and currently progressing through planning and investigation stages to determine the viability of the proposed route and secure the approvals required for future delivery.
