If your property is heritage-listed or located in a Heritage Conservation Area, special planning controls may apply. This page explains how to check your property's heritage status, whether you need approval for proposed works, and where to get heritage advice.
Heritage-Listed Properties
Heritage-listed properties and Heritage Conservation Areas are identified in Schedule 5 of the Bayside Local Environmental Plan 2021.
Planning Controls
Aboriginal Cultural Heritage
Aboriginal Cultural Heritage is protected under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974.
Known Aboriginal sites are recorded in the Aboriginal Heritage Information Management System (AHIMS), managed by Heritage NSW. Not all sites are recorded, as some may be unrecorded or culturally sensitive.
If your development involves ground disturbance, you should undertake appropriate due diligence to identify potential Aboriginal Cultural Heritage impacts. Any unexpected finds must be reported to Heritage NSW and Council.
Visit the Aboriginal Heritage Information Management System for more information.
