Inspired by nature and travel, his practice explores the relationship between landscape, culture and traditional craft techniques.

Bruce has travelled extensively throughout Japan and has led numerous Arts of Japan Tours, experiences that have strongly influenced his artistic approach and creative philosophy. He maintains studios in Sydney and Ubud, Bali, and regularly exhibits through galleries across Australia.

His work is represented in both public and private collections, including the Shepparton Art Museum, Campbelltown Arts Centre, and Manly Art Gallery & Museum, as well as international private collections.

Bruce has also undertaken artist residencies in England, Japan and Denmark, providing opportunities for intensive experimentation, research and the development of new work.
