Bayside households are entitled to four scheduled kerbside clean-up collections each year. Collection dates are available on your waste calendar, through the Bayside Waste Services app, on Council's website or by calling Council on 1300 581 299.

To help ensure materials are collected safely and efficiently, please follow the presentation requirements below.

Place items out for collection no earlier than the Saturday before your scheduled collection week and no later than the Sunday before collection begins.

For additional paid clean-up services, place items out the day before the scheduled collection.

Material may take up to five working days to be collected in each zone from the scheduled date. Items may be collected separately for operational purposes.

Material presented outside these timeframes may be treated as illegally dumped waste.

A maximum of 3 cubic metres, approximately one box trailer, of material per household will be collected during each scheduled clean-up.

Any material presented above this limit may be considered over-presentation. Residents will be required to remove excess material within 48 hours. 

Material that remains after this period may be treated as illegally dumped waste.

Place items neatly on the nature strip directly in front of your property.

For residents in multi-unit developments, designated bulky waste collection areas may apply. Check with your building manager for advice about your property's collection arrangements.

Do not place items:

• in rear laneways
• on garden islands
• in gutters
• on roadways
• where they block pedestrian access
• where they block driveways or vehicle access

Improperly placed material may not be collected and may be treated as illegal dumping.

To support safe and efficient collection:

• bag or box loose items to prevent litter
• bag, box or tie garden material
• remove sharp thorns from garden waste
• separate mattresses, whitegoods, metal items and e-waste into individual piles
• ensure all items can be safely lifted by two people

Neat presentation helps crews collect materials more efficiently and supports recycling and resource recovery.

• E-waste without batteries (such as TVs, DVD players and small appliances)
• Household furniture and general items
• Up to 2 mattresses
• Garden waste that is bundled, tied, bagged or boxed
• Small amounts of carpet and textiles
• Fence palings with nails removed
• Doors with locks and hinges removed
• Whitegoods with doors detached
• Up to 3 cubic metres of material (about one box trailer load)

• More than 3 cubic metres of material
• Glass or mirrors
• Fibro or asbestos
• Loose garden waste, grass clippings, leaves or spiky plants
• Branches over 1 metre long or 30 cm thick
• Gas bottles or fire extinguishers
• Paint, chemicals, oils, fuels or other liquids
• Batteries or battery-powered items
• Heavy items that cannot be safely lifted by two people
• Commercial or industrial waste
• Food waste
• Cast iron or concrete tubs
• Soil, sand or sawdust
• Building and demolition materials
• Fibreglass or insulation
• Structural steel, sleepers, guttering or pipes over 1 metre long
• Vehicle parts, tyres and car batteries
• Material placed out after your street has been collected

Material placed outside collection periods, presented in incorrect locations or left after collection requirements have been communicated may be considered illegally dumped waste. Penalties may apply.
