Reducing waste begins with making informed choices at home, work, school and in the community. Waste education helps residents understand how waste is generated, why resource recovery matters and what actions can be taken to reduce environmental impacts.
Through education programs, resources, workshops and community initiatives, Council supports residents to recycle correctly, avoid waste, reduce contamination and make better use of available waste services. Small changes in everyday behaviour can make a significant contribution to reducing waste and improving recycling outcomes.
