Her Way: Jazz on the Mall

Jazz

Join us for live jazz music, food and family activities at this special event on King St in Rockdale.

Date: Saturday 21 September 2024
Time: 4pm – 9pm
Location: King Street, Rockdale

The event will feature performances by local jazz musicians, family activities, including face painting and a caricaturist and more.

You'll also be able to learn more about recent upgrades made to the area as part of the Her Way project, developed to increase safety in Bayside’s public spaces, particularly for women, girls and gender-diverse people.

This event is free. No registration is required.

Hear from Chinese Australians who will share the circumstances of, and their feelings about, immigrating to Australia 30 years ago. The journey they embarked on was a road of no return with happiness and despair, success and failure, and scene after scene.

Everyone is welcome to view the exhibition of photos and paintings with description in Chinese and English during Sans Souci Library opening hours:

Migrant Information Day

Migrant Info Day

Learn about services that are available to migrants in the area at our Migrant Information Day.

We'll share information on housing, health, employment, education, support and Government services.

There will be information stalls, cultural performances and a BBQ.

Native Sugarbag Bee Workshop

Did you know that there are native bees living right here in Sydney? Come and find out more about these amazing creatures at this free workshop all about Sugarbag bees.

Learn the story of native bees in Australia, see the bees up close and personal and get the opportunity to taste some 'sugarbag' honey from a native beehive.

Photography Competition Exhibition at Mascot Library

Come to Mascot Library and George Hanna Memorial Museum and see finalist and winning entries from last year's Photographic Competition on display.

Mascot Library is located at 2 Hatfield Street and is open from 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 12pm on Saturday. The exhibition will run until November 2024.


Walking Football

Regular sessions of Walking Football are now available to Bayside residents every Wednesday on the Jim Graham field at McCarthy Reserve, Rockdale.

This gentler adaptation of the game of soccer caters to older members of our community, as well as to those with limited mobility seeking a safe and enjoyable playing experience.

Time: 10am to 12noon
