Awaiting Approval Development Application (DA) lodged
The upgrade of Mascot Oval, located on the corner of O'Riordan and Coward Streets in Mascot, is a key project aimed at transforming the area into a safe, inclusive, high-quality modern sporting precinct that meets the needs of the local community and sporting clubs, supporting recreational, sporting, and social activities.
What’s Involved:
- The proposed upgrade includes the demolition of outdated structures and the delivery of a new purpose-designed building along with significant enhancements to the public domain.
- The concept design has been updated in response to feedback received from the community
The concept design includes:
- New grandstand, change rooms, function space, viewing (filming) platform, canteen, storage, public amenities, meeting room, medical room, referee's room
- New public toilets and club space
- Significant increase in public seating
- New main entry to Mascot Oval with an arrival plaza space
- Improvements to other entry points, including from the carpark
- A new accessible walking path around the oval
- New scoreboard
- New integrated landscaping that includes seating
- New line marking to existing carpark.
The Development Application (DA) has also been lodged. As part of the DA process, Council will consult with neighbouring properties.
