Bayside Council is renewing the playspace at Gardiner Park, Banksia located on the corner of Wolli Creek Road and Gardiner Avenue. Council has engaged Perfection Landscape Services Pty Ltd, a licensed and experienced landscape contractor, to carry out the planned upgrade. 

 The new playspace will feature a variety of equipment catering for children of all ages, and includes: 

• Accessible new entry path off Wolli Creek Rd connecting to playspace
• Widening of the existing scooter loop track from 1.2m to 1.5m and painted with colourful stencils
• Replacement of existing equipment with a variety of new equipment and activities for ages 2-12
• New cubby house and dish carvings created in existing boulders to supplement existing sand pit play
• New nature, agility and balance play areas with boulders and sandstone blocks
• Removal of existing rubber surfacing and replacement with playground mulch surfacing and smaller areas of new rubber for inclusive access
• Provision of a shade sail structure over the main equipment
• Provision of a picnic setting, accessible drinking fountain and relocation of 2 existing seats
• New tree planting and additional planting to the nature play area (all existing shade trees within the playspace will be retained).
