The buildings at the former Bexley Bowling and Recreation Club, located at 72 Laycock Street, Bexley North have deteriorated over time and are no longer fit for purpose. To improve safety and enhance the visual amenity of the site, a contractor has been appointed to carry out the demolition works.
What are we doing?
The buildings at the former Bexley Bowling and Recreation Club have deteriorated over time and are no longer fit for purpose. To improve safety and enhance the visual amenity of the site, a contractor has been appointed to carry out the demolition works. The demolition will include the following activities:
- Site establishment, temporary fencing and environmental protection measures;
- Safe removal of all hazardous materials, including asbestos;
- Demolition of the clubhouse, garage, water tanks, and driveway;
- Site levelling and restoration of disturbed areas, including turfing;
- Installation of new perimeter fencing
When are we doing it?
Works are scheduled to commence in June 2025 and be completed by Spring 2025, weather permitting. We will make every effort to minimise disruption to the surrounding community. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
