Harmony Week 2024

Bayside Council is celebrating Harmony Week 2024 with a series of workshops paying tribute to the diverse cultures and communities that give Bayside its unique identity.

Our libraries will also be treating children throughout Bayside to special story time sessions where they will have to opportunity to hear their favourite stories in different languages.

Several cultural craft workshops for adults will be held in Bayside libraries during Harmony Week.

Japanese Tsumami Zaiku workshops will be held at:

  • Sans Souci Library on Monday 18 March from 10.30am – 12.30pm
  • Eastgardens Library on Friday 22 march from 2pm – 4pm

Tsumami Zaiku is a traditional Japanese craft often used to make accessories. Participants will learn how to make a Japanese flower brooch using sustainable materials.

The Rockdale Library will host a beading workshop on Wednesday 20 March where participants will learn beading skills, and techniques while crafting their own set of beaded earrings.

For safety reasons these workshops are not suitable for children. Participants must be 18 years or over. All materials will be provided.

The workshops are free, but bookings are essential at: baysidelibrary.eventbrite.com
