Committee Recommendations Head to Council

February is a busy month for Council as Committee Meetings get underway and Councillors meet to discuss local issues and make recommendations that go to a Council Meeting for final consideration.

On Wednesday 7 February Council’s City Services Committee, and Corporate Performance Committee held meetings at the Botany Town Hall.

The City Services Committee discussed several issues including our Arts and Culture strategy, and ways to revive our Wild Things native garden program.

The Corporate Performance Committee examined tenders for the Kingsgrove sports amenities block, and bus shelter advertising across Bayside.

City Planning & Environment Committee will meet later this week.
Council’s four committees help provide greater transparency, raise public awareness, and provide more opportunity for community feedback.

All Committee and Council meetings are open to the media and public, and residents can register to speak on any item on the agenda.

Agendas and minutes, along with the relevant council reports, are available on Council’s website and meetings are live streamed.

Mayor Saravinovski said:

“I would like to thank Councillors for the work they put into these Committees ensuring they participate in a wide range Council issues,” Bayside Mayor Bill Saravinovski said.

“They also deliver better transparency and improve Council’s decision-making process.”
