Community feedback on Bayside Council’s updated CCTV Policy is open from Friday 3 October to Monday 3 November 2025.
The policy explains how Council manages its CCTV network to enhance public safety and protect community assets. It sets out a transparent framework to ensure CCTV is used responsibly, lawfully and in line with best practice.
Council’s CCTV network helps to:
- Reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in public places.
- Safeguard Council facilities, infrastructure and community assets for long-term use.
- Monitor and deter illegal dumping to keep Bayside cleaner and protect the environment.
The Policy applies only to CCTV cameras operated and managed by Bayside Council within the Bayside local government area.
The draft policy is now on public exhibition and open for community feedback.
The draft policy can view online and the closing date for submissions is Monday 3 November 2025.
