Bayside Council celebrated its seniors with a series of Alice in Wonderland themed high teas to thank them for the extraordinary contribution they make to the Bayside community.
Nearly 300 Bayside seniors attended two wonderful Senior High Teas at the Botany Town Hall on Thursday 22 May.
The two final sessions of this free event took place at the Rockdale Town Hall on Friday 23 May, with 400 local seniors enjoying this fun event.
Seniors were treated to a delicious high tea and had the opportunity to meet with old and new friends while enjoying live entertainment and some toe tapping music.
Bayside Council is continually developing community-based programs to maximize the health and happiness of senior residents and to ensure they are socially connected and active in the community.
Senior citizen community centres located throughout Bayside also offer various community programs for those wanting to socialise and meet people with similar interests.
Bayside Mayor Edward McDougall said:
“These high teas are just one way we celebrate the remarkable role our senior residents play in the community,” Mayor Edward McDougall said.
“It is a wonderful opportunity to bring our seniors together and thank them for the amazing contribution they continue to make to Bayside.”
