Privacy Awareness Week NSW is taking place this week, running until Sunday 22 June. This year’s theme is “Privacy – it’s everyone’s business”.
Led by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), the Privacy Awareness Week’s message is that privacy is everyone’s business and a shared responsibility with each person having an important role to play.
Having good privacy practices in a business, organisation, or at home brings many benefits, including building consumer trust and confidence, or at home, knowing you are handling personal information safely and securely.
As part of Privacy Awareness Week, OAIC is inviting businesses and organisations to sign up as supporters to help promote good privacy practices. Supporters will receive access to a new software tool to help them embed a culture of privacy, as well as improving privacy practices, procedures and systems.
