Bayside Council has been celebrating Book Week 2025 with a range of activities for primary school students, including an annual local school art competition.

Preschool and primary school classes will be visiting Bayside libraries from 11 August until 5 September for readings from the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year shortlisted books and other fun activities.

The theme for Children’s Book Week 2025 is Book an Adventure and entries in Council’s art competition are now on display in Council libraries.

This is also the perfect time to visit one of our libraries and see some of the local entries in our Children’ Book Week art competition, enjoy the great children’s reading spaces, and help your children discover the magic of reading.

Book Week runs from 16 – 23 August and artworks submitted by local schools for the art competition will be on display in all our libraries until the end of August.
