Bayside Council, in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, is excited to announce the launch of a contemporary art project aimed at engaging young people in the Bayside Local Government Area, Dennis Golding: On the Foreshore.
The project will develop and deliver a high-profile artist-led project that benefits Bayside residents, facilitates positive social impacts and produces high-quality artwork to be presented in public spaces in Bayside.
The initiative, part of the C3 West program, will feature a series of youth workshops led by renowned local artist Dennis Golding.
Dennis Golding, a Kamilaroi/Gamilaraay artist from northwest NSW, will lead this project. Golding, who has ancestral ties to Biripi country and was raised on Gadigal land, is known for his work in mixed media, including painting, video, photography, and installation. His art critiques social, political, and cultural representations of race and identity, drawing from his experiences in urban environments and childhood memories.
The project will kick off with a series of four workshops, open to Bayside residents aged 16-22 years, allowing young people from Bayside to contribute to an exciting arts & culture project. These workshops are free to attend, with online registration required. Art materials and refreshments will be provided.
