Dispose of residential quantities – up to 20 litres or kilograms – of a range of household chemical waste

This event is a way to safely dispose of potentially hazardous household chemicals that could cause harm to human health and the environment if bot disposed of correctly. 

• Householders are limited to residential quantities up to a maximum of 20 litres or 20 kilograms of a single item, except paint.
• Up to 100L (in 20L containers) of paint is accepted and paint from commercial sources is allowed. 
• Up to 10 kgs of batteries are accepted.
• Business-related and commercial quantities of waste, other than paint, is not accepted.

Residents can bring household quantities of the following household chemicals and items – up to a maximum of 20 litres or 20 kilograms of a single item.

• Floor care products
• Ammonia-based cleaners
• Pesticides and herbicides
• Poisons
• Pool chemicals
• Hobby chemicals
• Motor fuels
• Fluorescent globes and tubes
• Acids and alkalis
• Smoke detectors
• Paint and paint-related products
• Gas bottles
• Fire extinguishers
• Car and household batteries
• Motor oils and cooking oils
