Masterplans

A Masterplan is a document that sets out a vision, identifies strategies and develops an urban design blueprint for a nominated area or locality - typically a Town Centre or precinct. Informed by an evidence-based approach, Council undertakes a master planning process to identify and address the planning opportunities, constraints and issues for an area.

What do they do?

A Masterplan allows Council to consider the possibilities for an area in terms of planning controls, public domain improvements, traffic/transport issues, environmental constraints, open space and infrastructure provision as well as community and social needs.

Current Masterplans

  • Mascot Station Town Centre precinct
  • Rockdale Town Centre

A Masterplanning process has commenced in Brighton Le Sands, with the completion of a parking strategy for the centre.
