Message from the Mayor

The Bayside Food & Wine Festival was exceptional again this year and although the weather was not as bright as we would have hoped, the crowd really enjoyed the event, and the occasional shower didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits.

We have some amazing businesses in our area and the Festival is an opportunity to showcase some of the local produce.

We also have some very talented people in Bayside and our performers on the day were outstanding.

Thank you to all the businesses and staff who contributed to make the day such a success.

Earlier this week, The Federal Minister for Climate Change and Energy, The Hon Chris Bowen MP launched the first of NSW’s 50 pole-mounted electric vehicle chargers at Wolli Creek.  Bayside Council will have seven chargers in total as part of the $2.04 million NSW-wide Intellihub EV Streetside Charging project, which will progressively come online by the end of the year.

I’d like to close with a couple of important reminders.  Firstly, tomorrow is Remembrance Day.  On this day we pause to pay our respects and honour armed forces members who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Finally, I would also like to remind everyone of our second Bayside Community Walk which takes place later this month.  I hope you can join us on Saturday, 25 November 2023 where we take to the streets wearing orange to say a very loud NO to all forms of domestic and family violence.

If I can assist you with any other matter, please contact my office at mayor@bayside.nsw.gov.au.
