As a resident of Bayside Ward for over 30 years, I was first living in Bardwell Valley with my husband Tony. We built a house and brought up our two daughters, downsizing to Wolli Creek 7 years ago.

I am now retired after an 18 year career with the ANZ bank and in my final years working as an Assistant Branch Manager. During that time I was an active member of the Finance Sector Union and awarded lifetime membership upon retirement.

As a resident of the Discovery Point Development at Wolli Creek I am a member of the Co-Operative Board and in that capacity I have successfully lobbied Bayside Council to install a pedestrian crossing at Wolli Creek Station.

Environmental issues are of particular concern to me as a member of the Wolli Creek Preservation Society since 1988 when the society successfully prevented the building of a highway through the valley. Today I am the Co-Ordinator of WCPS Wolli Creek Birdos survey teams and recently had success in applying for a small council grant to install 10 Bird Boxes on Bardwell Valley Golf Course.

I will advocate to:

  • improve council services

  • fight inappropriate developments

  • protect and improve our natural environment as well as playgrounds, parks and sporting fields with particular emphasis on the challenges brought by climate change & developing strategies for the future

  • promote reduction of greenhouse gas emissions via energy efficient programs

  • stop littering and dumping of rubbish.

I have experienced life’s ups and downs, bringing up children, looking after grandchildren, caring for elderly parents, supporting disabled relatives, working, retiring, downsizing, volunteering and much more.

The skills and empathy learnt have added and I find genuine pleasure in talking to and understanding people. This experience will be invaluable to me in my role advocating on behalf of Bayside residents.

I am honoured and excited to represent the interests of the community.

I am passionate about local community, have been actively involved through volunteering in various capacities and am keen to make a difference in our local neighborhoods.

I will be advocating for a stronger and more effective Council for our diverse community through improving services and facilities, championing sustainable improvements, and creating a more liveable neighbourhood with easy access to recreation and cultural amenities.
