How to make a submission on a development application

Eligibility

Any member of the public can make a submission on an application

How to make a submission

Submissions must be in writing. You can submit your submission by email or post.

By email: council@bayside.nsw.gov.au

By post: Bayside Council, PO Box 21, Rockdale NSW 2216.

What to include in your submission

Your submission must include:

  • application number
  • address of the proposed development
  • if you object, your reasons for objecting.

Submissions must relate to the property and the proposal. No other factors will be considered.

Please note that development applications and submissions are displayed publicly. Any information you provide, including your name and address, may be published.

Declaring political donations

If making a submission, you must also make a disclosure statement if you have:

  • made a political donation to a Councillor or 
  • provided a gift to a Councillor or Council employee.

Anonymous submissions

You may choose not to disclose your personal information.

If you do choose to make an anonymous submission, this may limit our ability to consider your submission.
