NAIDOC Week Family Fun Day

Bayside’s NAIDOC Week Family Fun Day is a free event where everyone can come together to learn about and celebrate the history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The Family Fun Day takes place at the new park in Guess Avenue, Wolli Creek which is also home to the largest mural in Bayside. This First Nation’s artwork highlights the significant Aboriginal heritage of Wolli Creek.

The day will include activities for the whole family to enjoy as well as performances and workshops by the Gamay Dancers and a pop-up library corner featuring Dreamtime stories. Visitors will also be able to take part in cultural workshops including weaving and shell art.

Lunch will be provided by Goanna Hut and later in the afternoon young people aged 12 – 25 will be able to take part in a basketball run in partnership with Basketball NSW

This free event has been made possible by funding from the Australian and NSW Governments.
