Corporate planning and reporting is where Bayside Council is able to manage the Integrated Planning & Reporting documents that support the delivery of services and outcomes to our community. These plans, programs and strategies document what our community wants, how we are going to do it and the progress and outcomes of these activities.
Integrated Planning & Reporting (IP&R) is the framework developed by the NSW State Government to guide Councils in the planning, reporting and delivery of its community’s priorities.
IP&R enables Council to bring all plans and strategies together to have a clear vision and an agreed roadmap.
It requires Council to take a long-term approach to planning and decision making and emphasises the responsibility to deliver and report back to the community on progress.
IP&R is where Council can identify, plan, fund & report on services and outcomes for the community.
Identify
Through extensive engagement with our community, as detailed in the Communications and Engagement Strategy, Bayside Council identifies what our community wants and document these aspirations in the Community Strategic Plan.
Plan
By rigorously planning what Bayside Council is going to do to deliver for our community create a measurable road map that enables efficiencies and sound allocation of resources.
Fund
This is where Bayside Council review and document our resourcing strategies to support our delivery plans for our community. Council determines the funding required for planned activities and assets on a long-term basis and budget annually to directly support planned services and projects.
Report
This is where Bayside Council review and report on our performance against the plans we have made. As a public service organisation, Council is accountable to our community for all our activities and expenditure.
The annual budget is reviewed and reported quarterly, Operational Plans progress reports are completed 6 monthly and an annual report is produced to respond to statutory requirements.
At the end of each Council term, a State of our City report is published that informs the new Council on achievements made and upcoming challenges.
