What happens when we receive a development application.

Complying development certificate applications

Once we have received your application we will:

  • review the application
  • notify your neighbours
  • make a decision
  • if your development is approved, issue a Complying Development Certificate.

Decisions are made by Council’s certifiers.

Development applications

Once we have received your application and payment, we will:

  • review the application
  • request more information from you if required
  • notify your neighbours
  • advertise the application
  • consider submissions
  • make a decision
  • if your development is approved, issue a consent.

If you receive a request for further information, you must provide that information within 14 days. 

If you don’t provide information within 14 days, we may unnecessarily refuse your development.

Decisions are made by: 

  • a delegated Council officer, or
  • the Bayside Council, following a review by the Bayside Planning Panel.
