World Environment Day 2000 Trees

Bayside Council is hosting a World Environment Day tree planting with Conservation Volunteers Australia that will see volunteers planting 2000 native plants to help regenerate the bushland in Sir Joseph Banks Park, Botany on Monday 5 June.

“This is a great opportunity to get your hands dirty and help create a greener Bayside for future generations. Community, schools and businesses are all welcome,” Mayor Dr Christina Curry said.

No experience necessary. A friendly team will be there to answer your questions and guide you along the way.

Bayside Council will provide tools, gloves, and a light lunch.

Please bring your own drinking water, wear long trousers, closed shoes, and a hat.

Sir Joseph Banks Park is a 16 hectare Reserve in Botany Bay, providing some of the last examples of the endangered Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub; that provides important habitat for an abundance of native wildlife, including over 100 bird species.
