From 1 July 2020 all Sydney Metropolitan Councils, including Bayside, will accept and process Development Applications, Complying Development Certificates and post-consent certificates via the NSW Planning Portal.
Bayside Council will continue to accept applications in person, however, from January 2021 all applications and payments must be made via the NSW Planning Portal.
Council has updated the Planning and Development pages on its website to help simplify the process and ensure customers understand what is required prior to being directed to the NSW Planning Portal via a direct link from Council's website.
“This will completely change how we do business,” Bayside Mayor Joe Awada said.
“Anyone lodging a Development Application is no-longer restricted to office hours or having to physically attend Council’s Administration offices. Council has been moving towards digital DA’s for some time, accepting most documents on a USB format, this is the final step to bringing everything online and in real time.”
Council staff will continue to work closely with anyone wanting to lodge a Development Application in Bayside to ensure the process runs smoothly, and to assist those who may need time to adjust to the new format.
Council’s Development Advisory Service will still be operational to answer any questions or arrange pre-development meetings.
