Gearing up for summer on the foreshore

The Bayside foreshore is a popular destination and an inner suburban oasis for our locals.

This year Council has developed a summer foreshore program to help reduce our environmental footprint, preserve our beautiful marine life and beaches, and maintain safe and enjoyable community spaces for residents and visitors alike.

Here are some of the new initiatives this summer:

  • A new Smoke free trial zone, known as ‘Breathe Easy’, extends from Little Grand Parade to the Brighton Kiosk and stretches from Grand Parade to the water.
  • We’re working together with additional Ranger patrols, Police patrols and an increase in Waste & Parks services.

“Botany Bay is a beautiful part of the Sydney coast and a popular summer destination.  The foreshore is something we can all enjoy whether it’s an evening stroll, visiting a restaurants or taking a selfie with our newest residents the Crab and Hippo,” Bayside Mayor Councillor Joe Awada said.

“I urge residents and visitors to dispose their rubbish in one of the many bins provided or take it with them.”

The Summer at the Foreshore booklet is available from our Customer Service Centres or website.
