Bayside Council will hold an Extraordinary Meeting of Council on 4 August 2021 to discuss a range of financial relief options to support the Bayside community experiencing financial difficulties during current COVID-19 lockdown.
“I want thank our community for being vigilant in getting tested for COVID-19 and adhering to restrictions and stay-at-home rules,” Mayor Joe Awada said.
“We have had limited hot spots in Bayside and I hope that continues. We must continue to work together to keep everyone safe and stop the spread of this virus.”
“Council must examine all options so we can provide important financial relief measures to assist residents and business owners during these stressful times of financial hardship.”
“I want to make sure Council can put appropriate relief measures in place before ratepayers are required to make any payment of rates at the end of August 2021.”
It is expected that relief measures will be comparable to those in place during the 2020 lockdown.
