Community Recycling

Council's first Community Recycling Drop Off Event for 2019 was a great success.

Council staff assisted one resident vehicle every two and a half minutes during the Community Drop Off at Bexley Depot on Saturday 2 February.​​

The following items were dropped off by the community, separated by Council staff and then collected by the appropriate re-use or recycling organisation:

  • 1,680kg of g​reen waste,
  • 7 cubic metres of e-waste,
  • 6 cubic metre of metals and white goods,
  • 160 kg of large cardboard (flattened),
  • 100 kg of clothing,
  • 32 tyres,
  • 12 gas bottles,
  • 10 mattresses,
  • 6 empty paint tins,
  • 3 large toner cartridges,
  • 2 lots of x-ray film. ​

The next Drop Off will be at the Botany Depot on​​​ Saturday 16 February.
