Australia Day 2022

Bayside Council will commemorate Australia Day with a citizenship ceremony in the Rockdale Town Hall as well as a family day at the Botany Aquatic Centre on Wednesday 26 January.

“It has been challenging to plan Australia Day events due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” Mayor Christina Curry said.

“But we owe it to all those who have also chosen this day to become Australian Citizens to make sure it is as memorable and as safe as possible.”

The ceremony will include:

  • Welcome to Country by Aunty Donna Ingram
  • Performance by the Gamay Dancers from La Perouse

  • Bayside Citizen of the Year Awards
