COVID-19 (coronavirus) information and resources

From 1 November 2020 to 1 April 2021 we will be putting additional steps in place to ensure our outdoor spaces are safe and enjoyable. These steps are outlined in our Summer Action Plan.

We have also made changes to our services, facilities and events.

COVID-19 in our community

We are still in the midst of a pandemic and we must all remain vigilant and look out for each other. Maintaining good hand hygiene, keeping physical distance, wearing a mask in public places where physical distance can’t be maintained and using digital check-in solutions – these behaviours are now part of our new normal.

We can’t afford to drop our guard over the summer months. Stay home, isolate and get tested if you have symptoms, always practice good hand hygiene and maintain 1.5m physical distancing.

Summer Action Plan

Our COVID-19 Summer Action Plan encourages you to enjoy our open spaces in a COVID-safe way.

You can download the Summer Action Plan here (PDF 1.67MB).

We are currently at Stage 1: Normal operations.

This means our parks and beaches are open for public use, with the following additional measures:

  • public announcements to encourage physical distancing, using a range of media platforms
  • education material to raise awareness within the community
  • focussed media campaign
  • Local Emergency Mangaement Officer to observe and request additional police presence and patrols as required
  • addtional Council rangers and Council staff on high traffic days such as public holidays, school holidays and weekends where the temperature will be above 30C
  • CCTV to monitor physical distancing compliance.

Reporting breaches

You can report breaches of the Public Health Orders to Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online.
