Bayside Council’s Local History Collections preserve the stories, people and places that have shaped our community. These significant collections are held at Mascot Library and George Hanna Museum, and Rockdale Library, ensuring Bayside’s history remains accessible for generations to come.
The Historian will receive a payment of $10,000 for completing the project, which will be paid in instalments negotiated in relation to an agreed project plan and linked to agreed deliverables.
The Historian in Residence Program invites qualified historians, heritage professionals and other suitably experienced researchers to uncover an under-researched or little-known aspect of Bayside’s past. The successful applicant will explore a specific local history topic and produce an original written work that contributes valuable new knowledge to our understanding of the area.
